ACIDBURN ARTBOOK
VOL. 01
From ages 17-20, I carried a blank art book and an unreasonable amount of drawing supplies around with me to my various 9-5 capitalistic endeavors (and pretty much everywhere else). I’d draw and doodle within its pages whenever I had a free moment. Upon its completion I scanned it in with the shitty little consumer flatbed scanner we had at the time, and then I self-published it for an audience of four within my family.
One day years later, while working a government job, I was able to gain access to a high DPI scanner and have another go at it. Then I promptly forgot that I had rescanned it in the first place, until the files were (recently) discovered years later.
For your viewing pleasure below are two galleries: the first is the more modern high-res rescans showing the book after it had weathered for a few years, the second is the original lower-res scans with more vibrant blacks and colors.
Page 8 contains elements and revisions of Mark Texeira’s work in X-Factor #86.
Page 11 contains a re-draw of Ron Lim’s Doctor Doom and Ozzy Osbourne’s tattoos.
Page 13 contains elements from Vertigo Comics (unsure of artist, possibly Dave McKean?)
